Chinchilla Fury.
To hear the name of this Chicago quartet is to remember it. Buzz Killman, from the Steve Dahl Show on WCKG has repeatedly included the band in his Top 10 Best Band Names playing in Chicago. While this list is solely based on the name of the bands and not on the music produced, rest assured, Chinchilla Fury’s music is as memorable as its name.

On the strength of their dynamic live shows – and without the benefit of a commercially available CD release – Chinchilla Fury has been invited to play their style of psychedelic rock at many of Chicago’s best live music venues. They’ve played at Martyrs, Elbo Room, Gunther Murphy’s, The Kinetic Playground, Beat Kitchen, Cubby Bear, Wisefools Pub, as well as the Chicago House Of Blues.

The band has completed their first yet-to-be named album containing 11 tracks. Though the band is known for its expansive jamming, the CD clocks in at just under 45 minutes because the band wants it to be a showcase for their songwriting, not their improvisational virtuosity (which is always available in ample supply at their live shows).

Chinchilla Fury looks forward to releasing their new CD with more shows this summer, and getting it into the hands of the desperate throngs who’ve been demanding something tangible from the band since they started gigging together back in 2002 and to proving to the rest of the world that Chinchilla Fury is more than just a brilliant name.
